SOLILOQUY OF TRUST
God of earth and sky and sea,
Canst
Thou not care for me?
Naked came I to this life;
Naked
do I face its strife.
Possessing
naught but what Thou givest;
Living only as Thou livest,
God of earth and sky and sea,
Surely
Thou dost care for me.
God of earth and sky and sea,
Canst
Thou not strengthen me?
Born of Thee to serve Thy ends;
On
Thee for breath my soul depends.
Surf
and alp and blooming bower;
Magnify Thy boundless power.
God of earth and sky and sea,
Surely
Thou art strengthening me.
God of earth and sky and sea,
Canst
Thou not perfect me?
Struggling, striving with my
sin;
Helpless
self to cleanse within.
When
once the earth in darkness lay;
Thy Spirit breathed the perfect
day.
God of earth and sky and sea,
Surely Thou wilt perfect me.
